Assembly Republicans have broken the budget stalemate by passing a plan to limit property tax increases while at the same funding education at the level requested by Governor Doyle. Unfortunately the Governor says he won’t accept it and Senate Democrats are refusing to vote on the plan. They're holding out for a budget that raises taxes by $18 billion, including a 23%, increase in the gas tax and an increase of $510 a month in new taxes for every Wisconsin worker.
